In addition, Richard Beard, managing director of Ramboll Middle East and Asia, and John E Alford, group managing director at Jasaf Building Technology Company LLC, also attended the ceremony.

Once completed in 2019, it aims to achieve the leadership in energy and environmental design (LEED) Gold certification. The three-storey headquarter facility will have a total built-up area of 4,053 sq m, with a roof deck garden.

Apart from its commitment to environmental conservatism, Ducab will also be creating a tree plantation alongside the facility, as inspired by the memory of the late HH Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, an avid environmentalist.

Ducab has a significant presence in Middle East’s cable circuit market. In early May 2018, the company announced the completion of 400kV cable circuit two months ahead of schedule for the Taweelah B Power station in Abu Dhabi

The new facility is in line with Ducab’s stated aim to demonstrate a broad range of ‘Made In UAE’ solutions of specialised products for the power and electricity sector. As of 2018, Ducab Group comprises of several business units in the region including Ducab Wires and Cables, Ducab High Voltage, Ducab Metals and Ducab Aluminium Company.
