Construction projects undertaken across the MENA region over the next 10 years will pave the way for growth and innovation in the facilities management (FM) industry

One of the leading providers of integrated facilities management solution in the GCC, Imdaad, has revealed it predicts the construction sector will remain key behind the growth of the FM industry, causing long-term market revenues in the GCC to rise up to US$816 billion within a quarter of a century.

Mahmood Rasheed, chief operating officer of Imdaad, said, ?The construction sector in the MENA region is expected to achieve a growth of 80 per cent by 2020, outpacing the global growth rate of 67 per cent during the same period.?

According to recent statistics, in 2011 over US$28.8 billion in construction contracts in the UAE were granted and, as a result, demand increased for specialised FM services in the country.

Rasheed said, ?This represents a huge window of opportunity for the facilities management industry to expand and cater to the corresponding surge in demand for specialised FM services.?

Imdaad implements the latest FM technologies and practices and is expanding across the GCC to meet the steady growth of the region?s construction industry.
