WCT Berhad wins Oman expressway contract

Construction company WCT Berhad has won a US$320mn contract from the Oman government to build a four-lane expressway in the country

The rights and liabilities of WCT and Oman Roads Engineering Company in the joint venture are in the ratio of 80:20.

The scope of works will comprise the construction and completion of the 44.75km dual four-lane Batinah Expressway, and has been scheduled for completion in 36 months.

WCT said the contract was expected to contribute positively to the group's earnings and net assets for the financial years from 2012 to 2015.
