Boingo to be the exclusive airport WiFi provider at Dubai airports

WiFi and DAS provider Boingo Wireless to provide exclusive WiFi services to Dubai International Airport and Al Maktoum International at Dubai World Central

Both airport serve more than 66mn travellers annually. The company will manage and operate ad-supported WiFi services throughout both airports. Through Boingo?s tiered WiFi service model, passengers will receive complimentary WiFi access, allowing them quick and easy access to their email, social networks and favorite entertainment content for a defined timeframe.

Boingo Media, the company's advertising and sponsorship services group, will manage WiFi advertising sales and support for the airports. Passengers will also be offered premium WiFi service, to engage in data intensive activities like video streaming and uploading large files.

The Dubai airports will be accessible to Boingo?s wholesale and platform service partners, including AT&T, Skype, Verizon, Korea Telecom, LGU+, NTT DOCOMO, Orange France, Telefonica and TeliaSonera.

Eugene Barry, senior vice president, commercial at Dubai Airports, said, ?Dubai Airports recognises the importance of providing secure and speedy WiFi services across the airport. We are currently in the process of completing a largescale network upgrade in parallel with the launch of this new service, with the primary aim of providing the fastest and most secure connectivity for all of our customers.?

Telecommunications company Du will be partnering with Dubai airports and Boingo for WiFi deployments and provide high-speed bandwidth for both airports.

Bjorn Thorngren, vice president of international markets for Boingo Wireless, said, ?Our partnership with Dubai Airports marks a major milestone for Boingo. The airports will be the centerpiece of Boingo?s international airport portfolio, and are key gateways for international travellers."

There will also be a 24-hour multilingual customer service support to cater to the expansive bandwidth of travellers.
