Company offers cabling solutions to hospital and financial institution

Structured cabling specialist, Reichle & De-Massari (R&M), has installed a complete end-to-end enterprise cabling solution for Middle East and North Africa financial institution, HC Securities. HC Securities had chosen Swiss company R&M?s range of enterprise cabling to connect its entire network infrastructure for its office headquarters located in Cairo, Egypt. The project was completed by R&M?s long time implementation partner and Egyptian systems integrator, Channel Computer Services.

HC Securities? range of financial services include investment banking, asset management, securities brokerage, research and custody and requires a secure high performance network with no downtime to handle its trade and transactions procedures and data transmission efficiently. R&M connected HC Securities entire office headquarters with more than 1,000 points utilising its Real10 Solution. Both the Real10 Solution and OM3 fibre cables have been developed according to the newest 10Gbit standards and allow for high speed data transmission over a distance up to a maximum of 300 m.

R&M has also announced the successful completion of an end-to-end network solution for King Khaled University Hospital (KKUH), utilising its line of Cat. 6A shielded STP (Shielded Twisted Pair) cabling. As one of Saudi Arabia?s leading government health care facilities, KKUH is a full service hospital with 840 beds and plans for expansion into a Medical City. The hospital provides primary and secondary care services for Saudi patients in the Riyadh area as well as tertiary care services to all Saudi citizens on a referral basis.

An important consideration for KKUH was the presence of electromagnetic interference from hospital x-ray machines and radiology equipment which can cause serious data transfer problems. Already, slow data transfer and bad network connections were delaying important procedures. It was therefore critical that a suitable cabling infrastructure was implemented to ensure a robust network and safeguard against electromagnetic interference.

R&M advised that its most advanced shielded solution, the Cat. 6A Shielded STP (Shielded Twisted Pair) cables should be used throughout the site to achieve optimal network performance and eliminate the effects from medical imaging equipment. Shielded cabling was also recommended due to its scalability and flexibility to handle future data transmission speeds and network demands. The implementation was finished on schedule thanks to R&M?s certified local partners.
