Etihad Rail and Hoyer sign MoU to develop liquid transport system

Etihad Rail has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Hoyer Global Transport to develop a bulk liquid transportation system across the UAE

The memorandum was signed by Shadi Malak, executive commercial director, Etihad Rail, and Michael Gerard Loscalzo, business unit director of Hoyer Global Transport. Hoyer, which specialises in the transportation of hazardous liquids, has already been working with Etihad Rail, with Hoyer being a member of the Etihad Rail industry advisory panel since the end of 2011.

Commenting on the MoU, Malak said, ?Etihad Rail?s commitment lies in delivering a safe, efficient, and modern mode of transport at optimal cost and with minimal environmental impact. Today?s signing is another indication of the progress that we are making at Etihad Rail.?

Upon completion, the Etihad Rail network ? which will cater to both freight and passengers ? will span a total of 1,200km across the UAE.

The network will also form a vital part of the GCC Railway Network, linking the UAE to Saudi Arabia and Oman.
