Volvo Trucks Middle East is looking forward to a positive year of business after predicting a projected 20 per cent increase on deliveries across the Middle East region in 2014 and announcing the launch of three new, top-of-the-range models

This prediction comes after the Swedish heavy-duty truck manufacturer had a successful first quarter, experiencing a 13 per cent increase in forecasted deliveries across its markets in the region.

Volvo Trucks president for the Middle East Lars-Erik Forsbergh said, ?The ongoing development of the Middle East truck market makes it a key focus for Volvo Trucks, and we intend to build on this great start to the year to reach our goals.?

At a special event held at Abu Dhabi?s Yas Marina Circuit in January 2014 ? an event that Volvo Trucks described at the time as the biggest truck launch ever held in the Middle East ? the company unveiled its new FH, FM, and FMX models.

Launching three new overhauled models can only help to strengthen and secure the manufacturer?s continued growth in the coming months.

?The new FH, FM, and FMX models will help us to do that [reach the company?s goals] as they offer the highest possible standards of reliability, handling, timesaving features, fuel-efficiency, safety and driver comfort to our Middle East customers,? commented Forsbergh.

The Volvo FH, which was named International Truck of the Year 2014, has been Volvo Truck?s flagship model for almost two decades and accounts for more than 60 per cent of total global sales.

According to the global truck manufacturers, the new range boasts several updates, including improved seating position, increased usable window area, and a modern rear-view mirror design. Other new features include Volvo Dynamic Steering, which is designed to deliver handling similar to that of a car, and intelligent I-Shift gearbox technology.

?This new range of trucks is the most advanced the world has seen, and has allowed us to introduce an assortment of innovative features to the market, all with a clear purpose: to help improve truck productivity and durability, and consequently customer profitability, while making life safer and more enjoyable for the driver.?
