(Al-Akaria), has been awarded a major contract to build a Treated Effluent Sewage (TSE) network as part of the Green Riyadh mega project. The contract, valued at US$176mn, was granted by the Royal Commission for Riyadh City, according to a statement from Al-Akaria. Green Riyadh is one of the world’s largest urban forestation initiatives, aiming to enhance Riyadh’s ranking among the top 100 most livable cities globally. It is one of the four grand Riyadh projects launched by Saudi King Salman in March 2019. The plant will be located in the Hamriyah region of Sharjah. The contract encompasses the full spectrum of project development, including design, financing, engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning, completion, testing, ownership, operation, maintenance, and insurance, as stated by the company in a filing to the Saudi stock exchange on Wednesday. In addition, Hamriyah Developer Holding Company, which is 45% owned by ACWA Power, has signed a 30-year water purchase agreement with the Sharjah Electricity, Water and Gas Authority (SEWA).
