Dubai to host Light Middle East 2014

The ninth edition of Light Middle East 2014, trade event for lighting design and technology, will be conducted at the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre from 3 to 5 November 2014

Light Middle East is a platform for manufacturers, architects, designers, consultants, engineers, construction companies, hospitality industry professionals and government officials.

More than 250 companies like LG, Osram, Artemide, Targetti, Regiolux, Rovasi, Apollo, Debas and Odelic will participate in the three-day event, which is being organised by Epoc Messe Frankfurt.

According to consultancy firm Frost & Sullivan,the UAE and Saudi Arabia accounted for 70 per cent of the US$2.5bn regional lighting market value in 2013. The Gulf lighting fixtures market is expected to grow between eight to ten per cent annually between 2014-2018, creating major opportunities for global manufacturers and designers to capitalise on renewed investment across the region.

Ahmed Pauwels, CEO of Epoc Messe Frankfurt, said, ?Light Middle East reflects the remarkable growth and developments that the regional lighting industry has seen over the years, presenting exhibitors with unmatched ease of access to regional buyers and markets. Given the large number of infrastructural and developmental projects currently underway, the GCC and wider Middle East represent a market of exciting potential and huge possibilities for the future.?

At the upcoming show, European manufacturers Rovasi and Regiolux are planning to introduce their latest range of energy efficient LEDs, which are energy efficient.

Ingeborg Schmidt, export sales manager of Regiolux, said, ?Over the last year, the main focus has been directed toward the development of new LED-equipped luminaries while extending the existing product range.?

Another attraction at Light Middle East would be the Future Zone ? a display of futuristic products and technology, cutting-edge design and trends from some of the leading international manufacturers and designers.

A two-day Light Middle East Conference on the last two days will be held, where lighting designers and experts will share their insights. In addition, the Light Middle East Awards will be also held on 5 November 2014.
