JCB Power Products has launched new open generators for the Middle East market

S range generator sets

The S range of generators, with the addition of seven new open set models, aimed at a wide range of industries in the rapidly expanding Middle East and African markets.

All models are powered by the Volvo diesel engines and feature Mecc Alte alternators, deep sea electronics (DSE) controllers and Schneider switchgear.

The range is offered in both 50Hz and 60Hz frequencies, with a standby output of 275kVA to 770kVA at 50Hz and 375kVA to 750kVA standby power at 60Hz. The new models will be powered by the seven, 13 and 16-litre engines.

The engines aim to provide low vibration operation and low noise levels for installation into a noise sensitive location. Flexible exhaust bellows and a range of engine exhaust silencer options aim to ensure easy integration of the generator into a plant room or other fixed installation.

With a range of DSE controllers, JCB is set to monitor operational performance, providing the flexibility to enable multiple units to be connected together to cope with peak electrical demands, as well as minimising fuel consumption.

As with all of the S models, these machines are designed for productivity and efficiency in many environments. For standby use, the optional static battery charger, anti-condensation heaters and block heater ensure that the generators are ready to deliver in emergency situations.

As with all of JCB Power Products? S range generator sets, the seven new models can be specified with JCB?s LiveLink telematics system, providing real-time location, maintenance and operating data.

Automatic transfer panels (ATP)

JCB?s automatic transfer panels (ATP) from 25 amps through to 400 amps aim to support the delivery of reliable emergency back-up power, automatically signalling to a back-up generator to detect a failure in mains power.

The new range is in line with JCB?s QS range of 20kVA to 220kVA generators. Each panel is compatible with many other makes of generators equipped with a two-wire auto start system, making these units very versatile.

As safety is paramount when it comes to electricity, each ATP unit is housed in a heavy-duty IP35-rated electrical enclosure for both increased personnel protection, and for protection against water ingress.

All of the panels can be supplied with a DSE334 controller which features LED indication of mains and generator supply status and switch positioning, giving the operator high visibility, and the control to manage their power supply.

Suitable for a wide range of operating temperatures, including sub-zero, the ATS units have a locking door for added security and an emergency stop button further increases safe operation.
