Duqm Refinery awards lifting and transportation assurance contract to Notus

Notus Heavy Lift Solutions has been awarded a three-year contract to deliver lifting, transportation and logistics assurance and consultancy services by the Duqm Refinery in Oman

Notus will assign heavy lift and transport engineers to assess safety, technical feasibility and compliance of the project as per the regional, international standards and industry best practice.

Additionally, it will deploy several of their consultants and subject matter experts to the Duqm Refinery to oversee all lifting and transportation activities across the project.

The Duqm Refinery and Petrochemical Industries Company is a joint venture between Oman Oil Company (OOC) and Kuwait Petroleum International (KPI).

The Duqm Refinery is based in Al Duqm and will have the capacity to process around 230,000 barrels of crude oil per day. Diesel, jet fuel, naphtha and LPG are to be its primary products.

James Mohammed, head of operations for the Middle East, said, Notus will establish a local entity to deliver the services for the project.
