Qatar?s RasGas opens new warehouse complex at Ras Laffan

Qatar?s RasGas has opened a new warehouse at Ras Laffan that will provide support and services across all user departments, including onshore and offshore facilities

?RasGas has seven LNG trains, two of them are among the largest in the world," said Hamad Rashid al-Mohannadi, RasGas CEO. "We already have Al Khaleej Gas 1&2 operational and Barzan gas project is emerging.

"Barzan?s first gas train will be inaugurated in 2014 and the second gas train is expected to be commissioned in 2015. Our second Helium plant is about to be commissioned this year.

"As our site expands, more space is needed for storing vital materials. In order to accommodate them, our warehouse requires extra storage space to meet the existing and future demands. The number of items held in stock is expected to rise from 55,000 to 95,000."

The warehouse complex is comprised of a receiving office, shutdown and logistics office, pallet racking, mobile racking, indoor laydown area, preservation area and cantilever for storing tubes.

Other facilities included chemical storage, equipment-charging, a liquid chemical store, an air-conditioned lab chemical store, a general store and gas storage.
