The Saudi Arabian Ministry of Water and Electricity has signed a host of new contracts for the implementation of water and sanitation projects across different parts of Saudi Arabia for US$120.5mn
The first contract was a first draft for implementation of sewage networks and pumping stations in Biblarshi in the Baha district, which amounted to US$22.1mn and has a construction time period of 36 months. The second agreement included a sewage project in Baqaa in Hail, amounting to US$10.1mn. The duration of the contract is expected to be 24 months.
The third pact involved supplying chemicals to operate treatment plants, wastewater treatment plants, and drinking water wells in the eastern region, amounting to cost US$9.12mn with a contract duration of 12 months.
Central water stations will also be developed in Dammam and Al Khafji at a cost of US$8.8mn in 12 months, while another project would incorporate a sewage system project in Hail for US$7.1mn and completed within 18 months, according to Arab News.
Operation and maintenance of the water piping system at Abha in the Asir province would cost US$6mn and take 36 months to be completed.
A reservoir and plant water distribution would amount to US$5.1mn in Alamadh in the district of Khamis Mushayt in Asir, whereas the implementation of water projects and sanitation in the districts of Almujama, Zulfi and Al Ghat in Riyadh would cost US$4.2mn.
