Afinitas, the leading global infrastructure equipment and services company, has acquired the Johnson Curing Systems Division of Johnson Gas

The deal includes Johnson Gas’ industry leading CurePak curing equipment, parts and intellectual property.

“The relationships with our customers and the impact our curing systems have had on the industry domestically and internationally is something we are proud of and will deeply miss. I am pleased to have found the right home for our curing business with Afinitas and feel that it is in the best interests of our customers,” said Steve O'Donnell, CEO of Johnson Gas. “This move allows us to focus on the efficiency of our core business with Mendota Gas Fireplace, Industrial furnace and Industrial burner businesses, and Afinitas is well positioned to offer the support our customers rely upon. We are pleased that Afinitas is eager to further the development of curing technologies and serve customers across the globe.”

“This is a win for the industry. We are combining the strengths of two companies with decades of industry experience to ensure customers have uninterrupted levels of service,” said Brad Schmidgall, CEO at Afinitas. “The combination of our resources further strengthens our newly launched Afinitas SmartSet Curing offering and will enable us to create even more solutions for the needs of customers.”

Johnson CurePak customers will be in very capable hands as the Afinitas SmartSet Curing technical team is led by industry curing expert Dan Hodel, chief engineer, a former Johnson Curing employee, who has more than 20 years of experience in concrete curing solutions and Ed Fisher, another former Johnson Curing employee, who runs the on-site service van programme.
