Twelve UAE nationals have become the first recruits to commence a new course focusing on administrative skills under the Pre Employment Course (PEC) scheme at Emirates Aluminium (EMAL).
Named the PEC Administrator Program, the specialist eight month course is designed to provide Emiratis with theoretical and practical training in preparation for Administrative careers with the company.
The course is the third PEC initiative by EMAL this year, with 24 Emirati trainees having already commenced the smelter operations course in June, and seven joining the first power plant operations course in August. The EMAL PEC initiative therefore now accounts for a combined total of 43 Emiratis undergoing training for employment in every major department at EMAL.
?EMAL is committed to the industrial diversification of the Emirates in line with the capital?s ambitious 2030 plan. We are contributing to this by widening employment options beyond
the oil- and gas-based job market, and through our training programs, all of which will provide Emirati men and women with the solid foundations required for their professions, and long term careers at EMAL,? said Saeed Al Mazrooei, CEO and President of EMAL.
