Major infrastructure projects in the Gulf continue to progress without being affected by the financial crisis, according to Hyder Consulting. A senior company official said that the company is working on infrastructure projects worth billions within the region.

Saad Alani, Director, Water and Environment at Hyder Consulting, said: "Apart from being involved in significant work with ADSSC in Abu Dhabi, Hyder Consulting is working with several international clients in Europe and within the region. We are currently working on projects worth several billions. Work on the infrastructure development projects would be the less affected given the present circumstances, said Alani. "The number of private developments have reduced while many have even been cancelled. On the other hand major infrastructure projects are continuing," he said. He added that there has been a massive increase in the number of Abu Dhabi projects.
