Oman Cables Industry (OCI), the Omani leading company in the cables and systems industry - part of Prysmian Group, participated in Oman’s Sustainability Week

The company presented the latest innovations in solar, wind and hydrogen products and services, and its continuous focus on grid hardening to support the energy transition towards a decarbonised future energy system, in line with Oman Vision 2040.

Through its participation in this year’s edition, the company showcased its efforts to become a Renewable Excellence Centre for the Middle East.

It also showcased the new PRYSOLAR cables, following the launch at Middle East Energy in Dubai. Prysmian PRYSOLAR is the result of the extensive Prysmian Group R&D efforts to face the most unpredictable challenges coming from the massively increasing solar applications market and anticipate the future. Thanks to an innovative and first-in-the-industry test protocol that certifies long term resistance in water for DC cables, Prysmian PRYSOLAR offers extreme climate strength and +30-years lifetime, which – for customers - translate into reliable return on investment, increased operation efficiency of assets, reduced OPEX and lower levelised cost of energy.

Cinzia Farisè, CEO of Oman Cables Industry and CEO of Prysmian Group MEAT Region, commented, “The transition towards renewable energy is connected to the capability and ability to transmit and dispatch the energy from one place to another from where it is produced to where it is consumed. Developing reliable and capable grid infrastructure for power transmission and distribution is the key for the integration of renewables. Our Company is among the enablers of this transition, towards a decarbonised future energy system. By our wide products’ offering to the market, we have an important role in the energy transition. Our Excellence Centre and its innovative and sustainable products will support the energy transition in the Sultanate and in the Region.”
