Engineering services firm Parsons has been awarded the site-wide infrastructure design and construction supervision services contract for Dubai?s Expo 2020 planned site

According to the company, the 438 hectare site located in Dubai Trade Centre will have pavilions, souks and entertainment venues, which will be designed, monitored and managed by Parsons.

Parsons Middle East Africa president Gary Adams said, ?We are excited that Parsons was selected by Expo 2020 Dubai to help deliver this first ever global showcase staged in the region. Our collective efforts will embody Dubai?s overall mission to spur innovation, opportunity, and connectivity.?

Expo 2020 is expected to attract 25mn visitors, 70 per cent of which will be from overseas. The construction of the venue, which lies right in the middle of Dubai and Abu Dhabi, is likely to be completed by 2019. The company?s portfolio of ongoing projects in the region includes major highways, bridges, rail and transit, airports, ports, water infrastructure, hospitals, public schools, universities, mosques, and other public buildings.
