Saudi and DSI joint venture wins US$720 million Mecca deal

The joint venture between Arabian Construction Company Saudi Arabia and Drake & Scull Construction Saudi Arabia has been awarded a US$720mn contract to build phase three of the Jabal Omar development in Mecca

The wholly owned subsidiary of Drake & Scull International (DSI) said in a statement that under the terms of the joint venture agreement, the companies will share 50 per cent of the overall value of the contract.

The third phase of the Jabal Omar scheme will cover a total area of 400,000 sqm and involve the construction of four hotel towers, housing five-star and three-star hotels.
