Saudi Arabia to help rebuild Yemen

Saudi Arabia has announced eight new developmental projects in Al Mahra Governorate in Yemen, as part of Saudi Reconstruction Programme in Yemen (SRPY)

The announcement came during last week?s ceremony which was attended by Abdrabbuh Mansur Hadi, President of Yemen, and Mohammed bin Saeed Al Jabir, Saudi Arabia?s ambassador to Yemen.

The eight projects in Al Mahra Governorate, located in the area of the former Mahra sultanate include expansion of Al Ghaydah Hospital, construction of a water purification plant, expansion of the Port of Nishtun, construction of new roads, construction of a new hospital, construction of educational and medical facility, construction of an electrical power plan, and renovation of Al Ghaydah Airport.

Al Jabir said that the projects will strengthen economic relations between Yemen and the kingdom, creating new job opportunities, exploring Yemen?s economic potential and boosting trade relations in all fields.

Lauding Saudi Arabia?s role in helping Yemen to reconstruct economy, President Hadi said that these significant developmental projects will accelerate sustainable development, building infrastructure and facilities for international trade flows.
