The Cat D8 dozer, which features cutting-edge technology to deliver quicker and more precise outcomes, was recently introduced by Caterpillar.

Operators can switch between machine sizes more easily thanks to the new generation design.

The bulldozer's long undercarriage provides the D8's well-known high penetration forces and greater dozing performance, while its elevated sprocket provides better riding and balancing than low-drive undercarriages.

With more horsepower than the previous version, the Cat C15 engine can handle a variety of ripping, grading, and dozing chores.

With a broad air suspension seat and several adjustment options, the D8 dozer's next-generation cab offers more room than the previous model. The next generation cab offers 17% better visibility than the previous design thanks to an incorporated rollover protection structure (ROPS)1. To make machine maintenance easier, it can be taken out in about 30 minutes.

Key features and helpful recommendations are integrated into the main 254-mm (10-in) touchscreen display to provide operators with a comprehensive overview of the machine and its technologies. The standard high-definition rearview camera feed is displayed prominently when the machine is in reverse. The heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) system's distributed air efficiently moves about the operator and lessens frosting and fogging in windows.

Key features

The new D8 dozer is remote control ready from the factory and has an external connector for easy dealer installation of a plug-and-play, roof-mounted remote-control unit. When working in dangerous areas, Cat Command for Dozing allows remote dozer operation, removing the operator from the cab.

The lightweight and portable Command console offers quick and effective line-of-sight remote control from up to 400 m (1,312 ft) for optimal operator visibility without the need for an on-site network. From miles away or on-site, the command station provides comfortable, non-line-of-sight operation. The station's familiar controls, comfy seat, and touchscreen enable the use of Grade, Payload, Assist, and other technologies.

Compared to previous models, the new generation D8 dozer design allows for a greater range of machine connectivity. By enabling the Cat dealer to conduct dozer diagnostic testing remotely, Remote Troubleshoot streamlines service efficiency and saves time and money. Remote Flash allows for technician-free on-board software updates at a time that works for the production schedule.

By offering vital machine operating data such as dozer hours, mileage, position with mapping, idle time, CO2 emissions, asset status and operation, and fuel consumption, customisable dashboards increase the effectiveness of fleet management. Regardless of fleet size or manufacturer, the D8 dozer uses VisionLink® to deliver actionable data insights for all connected assets that can be viewed from any location with a Cat Product LinkTM connection.
