L&T wins road contract in Oman

Engineering and construction firm Larsen & Toubro (L&T) has announced that it has won a US$25mn contract for the construction of a road between Bidbid and Sur in northeast Oman

The scope involves widening of the existing 76km two-lane road into three-lane dual carriageway, construction of 10-arch type interchanges, five two-cell vehicular underpasses, seven single-cell pedestrian underpasses and 15km of linked and service roads along the stretch, the Indian company said in a statement.

The project is scheduled to be completed in 38 months, it added.
