Sezai Turkes-Feyzi Akkaya (STFA), a Turkish construction company, was awarded a major road construction contract worth US$305mn in Oman.
The 75km project is part of the development programme for the 200km road linking Bid Bid and Sur. The programme will see the existing two-lane carriageway turned into four lanes.
STFA will take three years to complete the road project.
The first package between Bid Bid and Ibra covers 120km of the total 200km, while design is ready for the remaining 80 km between Ibra and Sur, according to Times of Oman.
The Tender Board is likely to call for bids from contracting firms for the remaining 80km.
?The scope of work in package I-B includes 75km of dualisation, 50km of service road and nine interchanges for alignment,? Vedat Koca, regional representative of STFA said.
