Emirates Central Cooling Systems Corporation (Empower) has announced that it will be participating in the 6th World Green Economy Summit (WGES) 2019 as a global sponsor

The summit themed ?Innovative Technologies for a Sustainable Economy?, will witness discussions on topics such as innovative technologies for a sustainable economy, international cooperation towards a green economy system, and adoption of green innovative solutions, according to Empower.

?Participating in the 6th edition of WGES as a global sponsor comes within the framework of the implementation of our ambitious strategy, in line with the UAE Green Growth Strategy, which contributes towards the achievement of the UAE Vision 2021,? Empower CEO Ahmad Bin Shafar said, adding that they have announced its participation in the 21st Water, Energy, Technology and the Environment Exhibition (WETEX) 2019 as a strategic sponsor.

Bin Shafar highlighted that WGES and WETEX are major platforms to promote innovative products, services and technologies in the energy sector, and to meet with decision-makers, investors, buyers, and those interested, from around the world. It is an opportunity to identify market needs, review current and future major projects, and seek chances to participate in solar projects and programmes in the region, he added.

Bin Shafar stressed that Empower is committed to supporting various sustainability strategies, notably the UAE Vision 2021 and the UAE Energy Strategy 2050, which seeks to increase the contribution of clean energy in the total energy mix to 50 per cent, the National Climate Change Plan 2017-2050, and the long-term national initiative to build a green economy in the UAE under the slogan ?A green economy for sustainable development?.

The WGES will be held under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, on October 20 and 21, at the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre (DICEC).
