The Big 5 Saudi 2015 was officially inaugurated on Monday by deputy mayor of Jeddah Municipality Abdullah Mohammed Al-Qarni at Jeddah Centre for Forums and Events in Saudi Arabia

This year?s event will mark its fifth anniversary and will run every day until 12 March 2015.

With 16,000 expected visitors and 545 exhibitors from 52 countries, The Big 5 Saudi offers the opportunity to source more than 7,500 innovative products from Europe, America, Asia, and the Middle East.

Over the next few days, visitors will be able to see products with a special focus on a more efficient and sustainable construction drive by the kingdom.

The visitors will also be able to increase their knowledge and expertise through a special two-day seminar series focused on sustainable design and construction. The purpose of these sessions is to provide professionals with the training needed to progress in their careers.

Nathan Waugh, event director of dmg events, said, ?The region is evolving at a rapid rate with development projects that aim to attract sustainable tourism, investment and business growth whilst also reinforcing its position as the gateway to the holy cities of Makkah and Madinah. It is an exciting milestone in The Big 5 Saudi story. We are proud of how much the show has grown and of how much it has contributed to the construction industry not only in Saudi Arabia, but also in the region as a whole.?

In 2014, 98 per cent of the visitors expressed their interest in returning to the show this year, revealed Waugh.
