Agro Pack and Iraq plastprintpack 2021 to be held in Erbil

Organised by So Fuar from Turkey and the German trade show specialists fairtrade Messe, the  Agro Pack & 2nd Iraq plastprintpack 2021, scheduled for 23 to 26 November 2021 at the Erbil International Fairground, will once again see more than 150 exhibitors from nine countries discussing business with trade visitors from all over Iraq and neighbouring states

Iraq's largest agrofood event, Agro Pack Iraq Erbil is building on the huge success of its three previous editions, most recently of November 2019, when 151 exhibitors discussed business with 7,245 trade visitors from across Iraq. 

Iraq's largest plastprintpack event expands on its highly successful debut in Baghdad in April 2019.

The event aims to help increase Iraq's self-sufficiency and improve supply. Currently, the Iraqi market can be characterised by three key figures. The value of its own food and beverage production amounts to more than US$3bn. Food imports add up to more than US$6bn. (FAOSTAT) And hundreds of millions of dollars are invested annually in modern agrofood & plastprintpack processing technology.

? Between 2015 and 2019, Iraq?s imports of food and beverage process and packaging technology increased with an annual growth rate of 17.5%, from US$88mn to US$168mn. (VDMA) 

This makes Iraq the third largest Arab importing country of such technologies in the Middle East. A clear signal of the political will to expand local food production and the "Made-in-Iraq" trend.

? Between 2015 and 2019, Iraq?s imports of plastics technology increased with an annual growth rate of 16.7%, from US$24mn to US$45mn. (VDMA) 

This makes Iraq the third largest Arab importing country of such technology in the Middle East. Continuous growth is expected in the coming years.
