The Big 5 Global Construction Leaders' Summit focuses on collaboration in the industry

On Day one of the Big 5, The Global Construction Leaders’ Summit have brought together some of the industry’s most prominent thought leaders

Supported by the UAE’s minister of energy and infrastructure, ROSHN, the headline sponsor , and Diriyah Gate Development Authority, the silver sponsor. Etihad Rail joins the line-up as the Summit’s official infrastructure sponsor. The Heriott-Watt University Centre of Excellence in Smart Construction and the UAE-UK Business Council are other partners.

The Summit emphasised the crucial time the construction industry is going through as it has joined the global movement to prioritise not only profit but the planet and its people. There has perhaps never been a more pressing need for collaboration across the entire value chain and to quicken the pace to future-proof the industry.  

During his keynote speech,  David Grover, CEO at ROSHN, said, “We must take responsibility for our actions more than ever before and recognise the impact of what we do everyday on the economy and the climate." He focused on the five components of Collaboration, Future -proofing the Industry, Decarbonisation, Talent and Inspiration.”

The panel discussions and presentations on day one focused on the urgent need to create a construction playbook for the future.

The Big 5 2022 features focused exhibits, summits, industry talks, visitor experiences and incubator pitching to address key sector challenges, spur technology adoption, and promote sustainability.
