Saudi Telecom Company (STC) and UAE?s Etisalat have signed a bilateral partnership agreement for the establishment of Interconnection Networks MPLS

The MPLS (multiprotocol label switching) will enable interconnection of IP services using the MPLS IP-VPN (virtual private network) technology for businesses, between Saudi Arabia and the UAE.

In addition, it will serve the regional and global business sector clients in both countries.

STC?s National MPLS offers wide geographic coverage, nationally and internationally, with its international reach being enhanced through partnerships with Tier 1 carriers. STC officials said that the agreement between the two telecom providers will enable business sector clients with advanced communications services, and eventually meet the demand for high quality connectivity solutions.

The Saudi Arabian telecom provider also said that businesses are being offered six options for QoS levels, ranging from a standard best-effort service to a high quality real-time service. STC?s MPLS IP-VPN network, which consists of the terabit capacity edge and core routers with a full mesh redundant ultra-high bandwidth links, provides end-to-end connectivity and allows intranet, extranet as well as remote access capabilities.
