DEWA signs MoU with Microsoft

DEWA has signed an MoU with Microsoft to enhance innovation, improve customer service and operational efficiency in the UAE and GCC

The Dubai government has plans to enable the emirate with smart technologies,keeping in mind the goals of Dubai Plan 2021, said DEWA officials.

The Smart Dubai initiative, launched by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, aims to transform Dubai significantly. In order to aid with this endeavour, Microsoft will provide the latest technologies, stated its officials.

?We are excited to be supporting DEWA in this step towards government modernisation and solidifying their efforts in realising goals set in accordance with the Dubai Plan 2021. This strategic collaboration will contribute in the direction of enhancing competitiveness in information technology and the smart infrastructure. It also supports DEWA in their mission to make use of the latest technologies to drive innovation for a smart and integrated city,? said Microsoft Gulf regional general manager Samer Abu Ltaif.

The MoU was signed by Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, managing director and CEO of DEWA and Ltaif at the ongoing World Government Summit in Dubai.
