AECOM has announced that a joint venture it is part of has won a five-year, US$72mn contract for the re-development and expansion of King Khaled International Airport (KKIA) in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia
AECOM will provide programme support as well as project and construction management services, financial management, contract management and airport transfer coordination services to meet a future capacity of 30mn passengers annually.

The KKIA passenger terminals will be designed to handle the increase in capacity. AECOM will provide a new processing facility with new domestic, international and swing-capability concourses, terminal renovations, temporary elements to maintain a high level of service during the construction stages, as well as upgrading and expanding the main load centre with the associated utility connections.
The project is part of a programme led by the country?s General Authority of Civil Aviation to redevelop KKIA into a modern commercial airport.
