Zamil Air Conditioners, the leading international manufacturer and service provider of air conditioning systems in the Middle East, has been awarded multiple contracts to provide custom climate control systems for the first phase of Makkah Metro Railway project.
The scope of the agreements calls for Zamil Air Conditioners to supply a number of precision control air conditioners, packaged air conditioning systems, air-cooled condensing units, and double-skin air handling units for the prestigious project, located in the western region of Saudi Arabia.
The Makkah Metro project will link Makkah with the holy sites at Arafat, Muzdalifah and Mina. Upon completion, it will cover 18 km and feature eight cabinets per each direction. The monorail project, worth US$1.8bn, was awarded by the Saudi Arabian government in February 2009 to a consortium of companies led by China Railway Construction.
