Empower connects 40 buildings with district cooling systems in H1 2018

Emirates Central Cooling Systems Corporation (Empower), the world?s largest district cooling services provider, has connected its district cooling services to 40 buildings in H1 2018, the company announced

The total connected load during this period is more than 52,000 refrigeration tonnes (RT).

Empower also announced that it has awarded the contractors and suppliers with 25 contracts on new projects in different areas in Dubai, mainly to build new district cooling plants and networks. This reflects Empower?s efforts and commitment to deliver highly efficient district cooling services, according to the highest international standards and best practices.

?Our statistics of projects, agreements and contracts in Q1 2018 reflect the awareness of owners and developers of the importance of energy-saving and environmentally friendly district cooling systems. District cooling systems have become an integral part of the planning and design of modern buildings in Dubai,? said Ahmad bin Shafar, CEO of Empower.

Empower started operations in 2014 by supplying two buildings with district cooling services, and the number of buildings supplied reached 1,000 by the end of 2017. Empower currently operates 73 district cooling plants across Dubai.
