A Deloitte report entitled "Energy on Demand: The Future of GCC Energy Efficiency", shows that per capita electricity consumption during the period 2007-2035 in the GCC is likely to increase at an annual rate of 2.5 per cent.
Alstom Grid has won a US$93.5 million contract with Iraqs Ministry of Electricity - Directorate General of Electrical Transmission Projects to design, manufacturer and install the Mosul East gas-insulated switchgear (GIS) substation.

Alstom has secured a contract from the Abu Dhabi Oil Refining Company (Takreer) - the oil-refining branch of the Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC) - to partially upgrade four Alstom GT13E2 gas turbines installed at the 500 MW Ruwais gas - fired power plant in the United Arab Emirates.
Investors will be asked to build and operate the power plants
