Bahra Cables signs supply deal for Jeddah South Thermal Power Plant

Bahra Cables has signed a US$33.86mn deal with Hyundai Heavy Industries (HHI) to supply low and medium voltage cables for the Jeddah South Thermal Power Plant Stage-1 in Saudi Arabia

The project, worth US$3.2bn and owned by Saudi Electricity Company, would generate 2,400MW to 2,800MW of electricity.

Talal K. Idriss, CEO of Bahra Cables, said, ?Bahra Cables daily adds more clients to its network of clients of large local, regional and international companies that trust our products of cables which meet all requirements and highest international standards.?

He added that the project would reduce load on the existing power plants and ensure a constant flow of electric current in the kingdom.

The company also has plans to set up a third-party logistics firm for electric industry and is currently looking for bidders. The four-year-old Saudi company added that it has doubled its production since it first began.

Bahra Cables is the producer of various kinds of cables including high, medium and low voltage cables, which are fire-resistant.
