Bahrain will build 21 power plants across the country this year at a total cost of US$439mn, the countrys Energy Minister Dr Abdulhussain Mirza stated.
Starts operations
The projects directorate has started operating two 220V stations in Seef District and Bahrain Financial Harbour which cost US$61.7mn, in addition to a 66V "Bahrain investment" station at a cost of US$11.9mn.
220V stations
Eighteen stations, five of which are of 220V, are being built at a cost of US$218mn, in Amwaj, Bahrain Bay, Al Areen, Tatweer Petroleum and Northern Town, reported Akhbar Al Khaleej.
66V stations
The remaining 13 66V power stations, costing US$148mn, will be built in Seef North, West Riffa, Zahra, Mahazah, Zallaq, Malkiya, Abu Al Aish, Wasmiya, Sakhir, Duraz and Northern Town.
