Doosan wins power plant order in Saudi

Doosan Heavy Industries & Construction won orders for facilities and equipment worth US$282mn for a power plant in Saudi Arabia.

Doosan Heavy Industries & Construction won orders for major facilities and equipment worth US$282mn, including three boilers and three steam turbines from Hanwha Engineering & Construction, which is constructing the Marafiq Yanbu II thermal power plant in Saudi Arabia.

The Marafiq Yanbu II thermal power plant will be constructed at the Yanbu Industrial Complex, some 300km north of Jeddah, on the shores of the Red Sea in Saudi Arabia.? Hanwha Engineering and Construction acquired the project from Marafiq of Saudi Arabia last April.

Doosan Heavy Industries & Construction will produce and supply major facilities and equipment for the projects by 2013.

Executive Vice President Dongsoo Suh (Head of the Power Plant BG) of Doosan Heavy Industries & Construction, said, ?The power plant facilities and equipment market has been expanding in recent months,? adding, ?In line with this trend, Doosan Heavy Industries & Construction reformed its organisational structure in early May, and as a result, the Company is winning successive orders.?
