Doosan wins US$896.46mn Saudi Arabia gas plant contract

Doosan Heavy Industries & Construction Company has won the Fadhili combined cycle power plant project worth US$896.46mn in Saudi Arabia

The power plant will supply electric power and heat to Fadhili Gas Complex, located 85km northwest of Jubail Port, and have a capacity of 1,519MW.

The Korean company said that it has formed a consortium with French energy company Engie to participate in the bid and received a notification that it won the project commissioned by Saudi Electricity Company (SEC) and the state-run oil company Saudi Aramco.

Under the terms of the contract, Doosan will undertake tasks from design to equipment manufacturing and installment, and to pilot operation as well as engineering, procurement and construction (EPC). The project is scheduled for completion by the end of November 2019.
