SDMO has strengthened its position in the Middle East by opening a new office in the Egyptian capital Cairo and reorganising its Dubai office in the UAE

The French power manufacturer will now forge ahead with its international growth strategy by expanding its commercial presence in the Middle East from its office in Dubai as it attempts to increase its regional market share.

Laurent Berthouloux, SDMO?s former regional director for Europe, will head up the Dubai office located in Dubai Media City and will take on responsibility for the firm?s operations across the Middle East.

Opened late last year, the company?s new Cairo office is directly attached to the regional office in Dubai, and will be headed by Ahmed Shouman.

The company, which designs, manufactures and markets a range of electricity generators and power plants from 1kW to 200MW, is the third largest manufacturer of generator sets and power plants in the world.

From its Dubai office, SDMO will aim to boost its commercial and service capabilities in the Middle East with an increased stock of standard products and human resources.

SDMO, which is able to offer tailor-made power plants and manages every project from start to finish, has taken on two new local employees at its Dubai office who will work in the firm?s technical assistance department.

According to the firm, the reorganisation has made it possible for the firm to offer responsive support, close-to-the-customer service, and special assistance for rental customers and the extensive network of distributors located throughout the region's countries.
