Chinese manufacturer of photovoltaics and a developer of solar projects JinkoSolar has signed 2.7 GW solar panel supply deal with the US-based NextEra Energy, making it the largest single solar panel supply deal in history

Being one of the world?s most valuable utility companies, NextEra Energy operates approximately 47,000MW of net generating capacity through Canada and the United States. The company has announced plans to own 7000MW of solar and wind generation capacity between 2017 and 2020.

Commenting on the 2.7 GW solar deal, Kangping Chen, CEO of JinkoSolar, said, ?To us, this partnership with NextEra is not about the large quantity of the order. Rather, what we value more in this arrangement is the long-term relationship we will establish with an important partner.?

?Considering that the US is one of our most important markets, the company highly values the development of long-term strategic partnerships in the US. This partnership with NextEra is built upon a mutually shared vision and management believe in sustainable development,? he added.

JinkoSolar has co-developed the 1,177MW Sweihan project along with Marubeni and the Abu Dhabi Electricity and Water Authority (ADEWA). The project won ?Large Scale Solar Project of the Year? by the Middle East Solar Industry Association (MESIA).
