Abu Dhabi?s executive council has announced it has approved the development of a water project in Al Ain
Under the chairmanship of Shaikh Sultan Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the committee has approved the implementation of an irrigation network, including reservoirs and pumping stations from Al Fayah area to Al Ain. This will expand the use of treated water instead of desalinated and fresh water resources, the executive council said.
The council also said that the network would help save 8,900 sq m of ground and desalinated water daily, which would boost reserves in those waters. The capacities of the pumping stations and irrigation tanks range from 200,000 gallons to 1.5mn gallons.
The council?s committee claimed that Abu Dhabi Municipality will tender the project.
The committee has also adopted a project to rebuild the main bus station in Al Ain to include an administrative building, waiting hall, shops, and parking lots for buses, taxis and staff vehicles.
