Doosan Heavy Industries & Construction Co. has secured an US$80mn deal to build a seawater desalination plant in western Saudi Arabia.
Under the deal with Marafiq, a Saudi Arabian state-run company, Doosan will build a multi-effect desalination facility in Yanbu, about 350 km northwest of Jeddah, according to a report from Yonhap.
Doosan plans to complete the plant in March 2014, which will produce 54,000 tonnes of fresh water per day, the report said.
