Modern Water, a developer and supplier of technology for the production of fresh water and monitoring of water quality, has signed a cooperation and agency agreement with Kazema Global Holding in Kuwait
As part of the agreement, the UK-based Modern Water and Kuwait?s Kazema will collaborate in Kuwait to promote Modern Water?s forward osmosis technology for make-up water, which can be used in evaporative cooling systems such as district cooling and industrial cooling applications.

Fadhel Al Kazemi, chief executive officer of Kazema, said, ?District cooling systems have been proven in neighbouring Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries, driven by the growing need to achieve energy savings and reduce the environmental impact. We look forward to working with Modern Water and using innovative, energy saving solutions to help us achieve this in Kuwait."
A statement from Modern Water informed that the make-up water produced by its forward osmosis technology is a practical alternative to using potable water or treated sewage effluent in district and industrial cooling.
Modern Water is currently also operating a commercial forward osmosis desalination plant in Oman.
