Saudi Arabian government allocates US$960 million for Riyadh water and sewage projects

Saudi Arabia?s Ministry of Water and Electricity has approved US$960mn of funding for the implementation of different development projects in the Riyadh region

The projects include design and implementation of water and sewage projects in the region at a total cost of US$80mn, with US$40mn assigned for the Dharma, Muzahmiyya and Quwiayyah provinces and US$40mn for a water transport project in Kharj province.

Riyadh is expected to see water and sewage projects at a total cost of US$533.4mn, which includes boosting of water resources in the city through three phases.

The ministry also announced an allocation of US$400mn to the saline water conversion corporation (SWCC) budget for the implementation of new feeding lines in the capital.
