Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA)?s latest project will regulate the growing demand for water and boost the Dubai?s infrastructure
DEWA has commenced work on a US$3.8mn Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) system to monitor and control the main water network. By enhancing Dubai?s infrastructure, this project will promote the Emirate as a hub for trade, finance, tourism, and sustainable development.
Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, CEO of DEWA, said, ?The key objective of SCADA is to monitor main water network round the clock and control the network through automatic valves or through direct orders from operators in monitoring room. This contributes to identifying leakages in the shortest possible time and reducing unaccountable water loss in the main transmission network.?
The project will enhance the efficiency of the water transmission network, increase reliability and secure uninterrupted and stable water supplies to different areas of Dubai at all times, he added.
The project is expected to be completed within seven months.
