Wilo Middle East (WME), a UAE-based provider of pumps and pump systems for the building services, water management, and industrial sectors, has reaffirmed its commitment in the areas of sustainability and climate protection to help advance sustainability in the UAE and the Middle East in 2021
Based on the UAE Vision 2021 that entitles improving the quality of air, preserving water resources, increasing the contribution of clean energy, and implementing green growth plans, Wilo has come up with a sustainability strategy that consists of the four strategic pillars: water; energy and emission; material and waste; and employees and company.

Some of our programs are done in cooperation with our partners according to global frameworks, keeping in mind the importance of collaborations in addressing major challenges such as climate change and environmental degradation. Our focus is to facilitate better access to clean water for 100 million people worldwide, reduce CO2 emissions by 50 million tonnes, and reduce the consumption of raw materials by 250 tonnes by 2025.?
The number of innovative water solutions have been steadily growing in the UAE, with an annual growth rate of 7.5% per year. The smart water system portfolio is annually expanding at a rate of 35%, while the expansion of the smart product portfolio is at 15% per year. Besides, the adoption of reusable packaging is witnessing a 100% growth rate, while recycling rate at Wilo sites is growing by 90%,? said Jens Dallendoerfer, senior vice-president - sales region emerging markets.
Using its influence, resources and knowledge, Wilo Group is committed to principles of the UN Global Compact to uphold corporate sustainability and establish a culture of integrity within its organisation.
