Tabreed, Abu Dhabi-based district cooling utility company, has announced that will provide district cooling services to Yas Waterworld Abu Dhabi
Tabreed will supply 2,473 RT of cooling to the waterpark's internal facilities, including its main building, measuring approximately 11,529 square metres of interior space.
Tabreed will help Yas Waterworld reduce its energy consumption by approximately four million KwH per year, driving an expected reduction in CO2 emissions of almost 2,000 tonnes per year, and a potential cost saving of nearly US$163,359 per year.
Jasim Thabet, CEO of Tabreed, said, "Yas Waterworld is one of Abu Dhabi's most exciting new developments and will be a major attraction. We are pleased to provide them with year round, reliable, and energy efficient cooling solutions.
"District cooling reduces energy consumption, creating significant benefits in terms of lower costs and CO2 emissions," Thabet added.
Mike Oswald, general manager of Yas Waterworld Abu Dhabi, said, "For a waterpark of its size, it was important to choose a cooling partner that was aligned with our energy-conscious approach. Tabreed's proven experience in the UAE made it an ideal choice in this regard."
