Bre Global launched a dedicated resource for the delivery of BREEAM, the internationally recognised measure of sustainability for master planning, infrastructure and built environment at The Big 5 2016

The organisation also showcased LPCB, its certification brand used for fire and security products and services and its property level security standard SABRE.

The company commented that used in more than 70 countries, BREEAM is the leading standard for sustainability. More than 551,000 buildings have been certified under BREEAM on more than 24,000 projects around the world with over 2.2mn registered for assessment over the last 25 years.

Commenting of the safety and security market in the Middle East, the company spokesperson said that there is an increasing understanding of the financial and environmental value of sustainable practice across the Middle East. Identifying this demand, BRE has created a new office and team in Dubai.

BREEAM communities scheme manager Rose Pourmatin commented, ?There is US$2.5tn-worth of projects currently underway in MENA, with 60 per cent of these taking place in Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates. This presents a receptive, eager and inspiring market for BREEAM as an adaptable and holistic green construction rating system.?

She explained that BREEAM is a straightforward scoring system that is transparent, easy to understand and supported by evidence-based research. The BREEAM process inspires project teams to find innovative solutions that minimise the environmental impact whilst helping to reduce running costs, improve working and living environments apart from providing clients, developers, designers and contractors with a global recognised brand that rewards environmental impact buildings.
