UAE?s Emaar Properties has signed an agreement with Dubai World Central (DWC) for undertaking urban developments, including a golfing landscape, in the airport city
According to DWC, the project would cover a build area of 13.63mn sqm, comprising a golf course villa community, several hotels, a shopping mall, a business hub and green buildings, among other developments. This joint venture project will be situated near the Expo 2020 venue and the new Al Maktoum International Airport in Jebel Ali, Dubai.
Emaar and DWC executives said the project was being developed along the themes of the Expo 2020, which focuses on sustainability.
Emaar and DWC are in the process of finalising the master plan for the project.
Dubai Aviation City Corporation chairman, HH Sheikh Ahmed Bin Saeed Al Maktoum, said, ?Emaar Properties is associated with an iconic development in the world and we will work together to deliver a remarkable destination. In the coming days, Dubai World Central will witness several new projects to build an integrated city.?
Emaar chairman Mohamed Alabbar said, ?We are thankful for the opportunity to be part of the ambitious developments that will fully equip our city to host the Expo 2020.?
