Italian surface solutions manufacturer Fila recently announced its market consolidation and geographic scope in the Middle East, South Asia and South Pacific Asia
With more than 70 years of experience in surface protection, Fila Surface Care Solutions aims to provide eco-friendly and cost-effective solutions for the protection and maintenance of stones, porcelain, ceramics and terracotta.
Fabrizio Nicoli, commercial director of Fila Middle East, said that Fila plays a crucial role in the stone construction market in the region. The products are designed aiming to protect exterior surfaces from UV rays, humidity and dust and focus on ensuring the protection of interior flooring and walls.
?Our main asset is our comprehensive and expert approach to stone protection, and that?s what our partners value,? he added.
According to him, the stone protection and maintenance products of Fila cover the entire life of a building by protecting the beauty of the materials in the long-term. Some of the notable projects of the company in the Middle East are the Louvre Museum in Abu Dhabi and the Armani Hotel in Burj Khalifa.
Commenting on the stone construction market trends in the region, Nicoli said that despite a slight slowdown in the demand for natural stone in construction as the governments are cutting cost on construction projects, the longevity and beauty of natural stone is expected to surpass other material in the long run.
He further noted that the demand for VOC-free, LEED-certified and water-based sealers and detergents to remove heavy construction dirt boosted the sales of the company in past year.
Fila?s regional office in Dubai was established in 2012, with an initial objective to manage Fila?s GCC operations. The office is currently responsible for the company?s activities in the South Asia and South Pacific Asia regions as well as in the GCC region.
Speaking about the company?s growing scope in the region, Nicoli explained, ?In terms of specific markets, we are particularly well established in Indonesia, India and the Philippines with many different projects underway there, while regionally, the UAE, Qatar and Kuwait remain our most important markets.?
?It has also allowed us to gain a presence in other regions as it is easy and faster for us to assist the clients technically and commercially from the UAE. Thus we were able to penetrate the steadily growing South Asia market,? he commented.
Recently, the company has signed a partnership with Italian Lapitec, one of the top international producers of the biggest full body sintered stone slabs, to further expand the services of both the companies throughout the world.
