Juma Al Majid Group's Al Arabia Elevators and Moving Systems wins IBX Award 2016

Juma Al Majid Group?s Al Arabia Elevators and Moving Systems has, for the first time, has won the International Business Excellence (IBX) Awards, which was hosted by Awards International in partnership with the department of economic development in Dubai (DED), Cranfield School of Management and Sharjah Tatweer Forum

The company won in the ?Real Estate and Construction? category.

The winners were announced on 18 May 2016 where there were 26 category award winners. The categories at the two-day event included marketing, financial services, retail, customer experience and sustainability. According to organisers, the awards represent an annual programme aiming to recognise business excellence across the world.

Honoured by HH Sheikh Mansour Bin Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, chairman of Dubai International Marine Club, Sami Al Qamzi, director general of department of economic development in Dubai, Juma Al Majid Group?s Al Arabia Elevators and Moving Systems was one among the first 19 categories.

Saleh Chehade, chief contracting officer, contracting and services sector of Juma Al Majid Group, said, ?Excellence is important and considering the stringent competition in the market today, I applaud my team?s achievement.?

Mark Hamill, managing director of Awards International, said, ?There were over 85 finalist presentations in 26 categories, from over 16 different countries, the judges had a fantastic insight into how companies do business across the many different sectors and across the world. Feedback from the judges so far has been very positive with many judges informing us about how much they have learnt in two days.

?Some categories were really competitive and it was a challenge choosing the finalists in categories such as the Customer Experience and Voice of the Customer, while finalists in Technology and Smart Technology categories were competitive. As this was the second year of the IBX Awards, the companies were much better prepared than in year one. The level of competition also saw an increase this year.?

Juma Al Majid Group began its operations in 1950 and today the group is a conglomerate with over 38 companies conglomerate headed by chairman Juma Al Majid and vice-chairman Khalid Juma Al Majid.
